I watched a Facebook video where, in a particular part of the world, people don’t answer the question "How are you?" The idea behind this is that people don’t really care after all, that's just a general question anyone will ask when they meet you.
How do you feel when someone you consider a friend doesn’t understand what you’re going through? Or is it that they don’t care at all?
Well, personally, I have go through many such situations and I guess some of you reading this might have gone through something similar. Let's go through the story and learn some lessons.
ENJOY THE STORY!
Once upon a time, in a beautiful town where animals from all around the world gathered, there was a grand festival to celebrate peace and unity. The air was filled with joy as the animals shared their stories and embraced the diversity among them. The environment was vibrant, and Mother Nature showered her love upon them, filling the days with warmth and beauty.
As the festival continued, the animals enjoyed an abundance of food and drink. But as the days passed, the once plentiful resources began to dwindle. Finding food became increasingly difficult. The animals, each with different strengths and abilities, ventured into the forest in search of sustenance. The strong hunted for their meals, while others relied on their friends or family to provide. It became a struggle for survival, with the strong seeming to have an advantage.
Among the animals was one named Peace, who was strong and talented but had no family. Unfortunately, Peace fell ill, though the illness was invisible to others, making him appear healthy. Despite his sickness, Peace tried to join in the festivities, though he struggled silently with his condition. He found it harder each day to gather food, but he kept his pain to himself.
Sometimes, Peace's friends would share their food with him, and they would all eat together. However, over time, his friends began to accuse him of being selfish, claiming he hoarded food for himself. Peace tried to explain his illness, but his friends did not believe him. Rumors spread throughout the town, and soon, no one wanted to share with him. Even his closest friends refused to listen to his pleas.
Feeling alone and misunderstood, Peace retreated to a cave near the village, where he stayed for days without food. One day, a kind neighbor happened to pass by and found Peace lying helplessly. She took him to her village, where she nursed him back to health and provided him with food. Grateful for her help, Peace thanked the neighbor.
Together, they decided to return to the festival. Upon their arrival, they were met with singing, dancing, and the usual merriment. The animals were astonished to see Peace looking healthier than ever. The kind neighbor explained to the animals what had happened and pointed out their mistake in not listening to Peace's problems. Realizing how they had wronged him, the animals felt ashamed and asked Peace for forgiveness.
This story teaches us the importance of listening to and understanding others, especially when they are going through difficult times. It's easy to make assumptions based on appearances, but true friendship requires compassion and a willingness to support one another, even when we don't fully understand their struggles. Paying close attention to our friends, genuinely asking them personal questions, and most importantly, being a good listener can help us understand them better.
